Comments : The design of the trap makes it extremely versatile.
Wildfowl readily take to them when fed with grain. If you don't have a
location for Wildfowl then used as a Garden Trap when the weather prevents
Mist Netting. The Trap is just as good for catching Finches in Winter
or Starling when fed with Kitchen Scraps. We have had 50+ Starlings in
a day, not just in winter but also in May and June when the Adults are
feeding young. |

Duck Trap Extraction Door Starling Funnel |

Description : An accessory to drop into the Open Extraction Door made
from the same Wire Mesh as the Duck Trap. This adaptation was designed
specifically for Starlings when large flocks drop in to feed and can double
the number of birds entering the trap in a given time. The adaptation does
not restrict the normal Entrance Door and simply lifts out to allow
Extraction of the birds. The Funnel Gap can be adjusted by repositioning the
Tie Points allowing different Species to be targeted. |

Supplied with 100 Ties and a 200mm Suspension Hook or Chain. The Trap has 4 x
75mm (3") Entrance Funnels to allow the Birds to enter the Trap. The
Design of the Trap does not prevent birds escaping through the Offset
Entrance Funnels but greatly reduces escapes by design. Extraction is
via one of 2 Sprung Loaded Extraction Doors. The Trap is free to
swivel via the Suspension and Swivel Hook combination that supports the
trap. There are various modifications available to this Trap such as
Entry Flaps for the Funnels and Larger Funnels to catch species such as
Woodpecker. We can also provide Metal Chain for Suspension of the

Comments : This Trap was developed in our Garden as an alternative to
Mist Netting when windy. We found that it did take some time for the
birds to get used to the trap but once the food was found the trap was
regularly used. We have also tested the Trap at a Woodland Feeding
Station and caught within 2 hours of being set up. |

Comments : We have used this type of Roost Cage for Swallow and Bunting
Roosting overnight. We use Old Newspaper on the Bottom of the Cage and
cover the Cage with an old cut done sheet (Ensure air can pass thought the
sheet) to darken the cage to settle the birds. The cages can be
stacked and tied together for security. We recommend 50 Birds per Cage as a
Maximum. Other species may be roosted in these cages but knowledge of
the species interaction must be taken into account. Please contact us
